HYDERABAD: Who is Sana Satish Babu, the Hyderabad-based businessman on whose statement an FIR has been reportedly booked against CBI Additional director Rakesh Asthana? The statement of Satish Sana before a magistrate has become crucial in the infighting in the CBI top brass.
Sana Satish Babu, a native of Kakinada in Andhra, was a small time AP State Electricity Board employee who quit his government job and moved on to Hyderabad to floated several companies and is closely associated with several politicians of Telugu Desam, Congress and YSR Congress.

Sana Satish Babu named initially figured in Enforcement Directorate case in 2015 meat export Moin Qureshi case and 2017 where he tried to mediate on behalf of accused from Hyderabad who is facing CBI and ED cases. In the latest issue, Sana Satish Babu took the name of CBI second in command Rakesh Asthana.
Sana Satish Babu is a director of several companies like Rasama Estates LLP, Goldcoast Properties Private Limited, Matrix Natural Resources Private Limited, East Godavari Breweries Private Limited. Another company SRAS Marine Logistics Private Limited company he promoted was struck off by ROC recently.
Former cricketer and Telangana Badminton Association Vice President V Chamundeswaranath, who is also a director with Satish Sana Babu in Goldcoast Properties Private Limited told TOI, ”I became part of Goldcoast regarding property dealings in Kakinada almost eight years ago. For the past few years, I am not in touch with him. I came in touch with him as he was East Godavari District Cricket Association president and I was Andhra Cricket Association secretary,”

Chamundeswaranath said, ”Satish did his Polytechnique in electrical engineering and then was appointed on compassionate grounds in APSEB. Later he quit the job and was into cricketing and then started companies,”
Satish Sana Babu was also associated with companies then owned by Nimmagadda Prasad of Vanpic group initially.
In the charge sheet filed by ED in 2017 October Satish Sana stated that he went to Delhi to secure bail for Sukesh Gupta of MBS Jewellers of Hyderabad in another CBI case and the then Congress leader and now YSR Congress leader Botcha Satyanarayana accompanied him. ED also alleged Koneru Pradeep son of Koneru Prasad accused in the Emaar scam paid to Moin Qureshi. The BBM(Blackberry) messages between the then CBI director AP Singh and Quresh mentioned about Koneru and Satish Sana extensively.
The source said Satish is close to several Congress ministers from Godavari districts and as well as the Telugudesam leaders.
