OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Ocala Electric Utility confirms that power has been restored after a commercial vehicle hit utility poles near NE 43rd Place and NE 36th Avenue.


Original article published at 10:24 a.m.: Ocala Electric Utility crews are on the scene this morning after a commercial vehicle struck utility equipment near NE 43rd Place and NE 36th Ave., knocking down three power poles and cutting power to nearby homes and businesses.

Both roads are currently blocked in all directions, and power is out in the area. Crews say they’re making progress and expect to restore some service soon.

Utility officials are asking drivers to avoid the area and take alternate routes while the repairs continue. They’re also reminding everyone to stay away from any downed power lines or damaged equipment for safety.
