Netflix viewers slam 'hot mess' medical drama they could 'only watch for 7 minutes'
Netflix's latest medical drama series, Pulse, has left viewers unimpressed.
Netflix's latest medical drama, Pulse, has left viewers less than impressed, with many accusing the show of 'wasting their time. ' The series, which debuted on the streaming platform on Thursday (April 3), has been met with a barrage of negative reviews.
The 10-part drama follows the lives of ER residents at a prestigious trauma hospital in Miami, but it seems the storyline has failed to captivate audiences.
The plot thickens when third-year resident, Danny (played by Willa Fitzgerald), accuses her boss Xander (portrayed by Colin Woodell) of sexual harassment, leading to his suspension. This results in Danny being promoted to chief resident, putting her in charge of her colleagues.
However, as the series progresses, it is revealed that she actually had a secret romantic relationship with Xander.
Despite its promising premise, the show has been heavily criticised by Netflix subscribers, with some admitting they couldn't even make it through the entire season.
Expressing their disappointment on X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: "[I] could watch #Pulse on #Netflix for only 7 minutes," reports the Irish Star.
Another disgruntled fan said: "Just wasted 45 mins of my life watching ep 1 of Pulse on Netflix and you just know they're about to renew it for 5 more seasons."
Adding to the chorus of criticism, another viewer said: "#Pulse on Netflix is a HOT MESS."
Meanwhile, a fourth critic was convinced that most people switched off the show within minutes, stating: "I'd like to see the viewership data on @Netflix's show Pulse.
"I want to know how many people turned it off in the first five minutes. Not a criticism of the show, just curious about the data. Also a criticism of the show."
Yet, not all feedback was negative, as some viewers were completely engrossed by the series. One eager fan expressed on X: "I'm loving #Pulse... binged it all in one sitting," and another commended: "The new hospital series on Netflix is good!"
The series boasts a stellar cast featuring the likes of Justina Machado (Six Feet Under), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Jack Bannon (Pennyworth) and Chelsea Muirhead (Warrior).
As of this article Netflix has yet to announce if Pulse will return for a second season.
