A major crash and resulting fuel spill closed a road in Bristol for several hours today, Friday, March 28. The A4174 Airport Road was closed in the westbound direction while emergency services attended the scene of a collision.
The road had reopened by 6pm following a large clean-up operation.
There are reports of delays and heavy traffic in the area. Travel WEST said: "Airport Road RTC, Westbound closed by Police for an RTC expect delays."
Traffic monitor Inrix reports: "A4174 Airport Road Westbound closed, heavy traffic due to accident and fuel spillage from The Sports Centre turn off to Cadogan Road. Some buses may be diverting."
First West of England added: "SERVICE ALERT - 2, 2a, 172, 374, 375, 376, 376a, SB3 Wells Road Incident on the Wells Road Airport Junction. Please be aware of possible delays or diversions. Apologies in advance."
The road has since reopened.

Avon and Somerset Police said:
"At 11.24am we reived a report of a two-car collision on Airport Road, near its junction with Cadogan Road.
"Emergency services are in attendance and the two drivers have been taken to hospital with injuries that are neither believed to be life threatening nor life changing.
"Officers have closed the road while they respond and the vehicles involved are recovered."
