Realize the truth before it’s too late
Shout out to the Antelope Valley Press. Thank you. In February 2022 I retired after 52 years of working. Your paper’s daily five puzzles have been wonderful.
Lately I began reading your editorials and that has brought great entertainment to me. I am proud to have no political party loyalty as I don’t see either party having any positive influence on the people they are supposed to represent.
In the past week I have seen great proof of this in your editorials. One day I noticed a writer praising the president’s State of the Union address. Did he address the state of the union? Probably best he didn’t.
Last Thursday, I believe, the two articles were fascinating, one pro-Democrat and the other pro-Republican. Both had some truths and both had some nontruths. Both written by what appeared to me to be intelligent people. One of today’s problems is that the truth does not change, but believers choose to believe what is best for their agenda regardless of facts.
Somebody pointed out the price of gas has nothing to do with the president. It was correctly stated that the USA has had record daily oil production for a couple years now. It was mentioned that stopping construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline has no effect on pricing. The Energy Information Administration has projected USA gas use (includes heating gas) will stay the same in 2024 and decrease by 1% in 2025.
I have a simple Economics 101 question. Supply and demand — if the supply is the highest in the country’s history and demand is not, why are the prices higher — oh I was being nice, so much higher? Logically this is not correct, but yet it is. Probably too late, but what was the real reason for stopping pipeline construction?
Where is the logic behind the aforementioned and the great “job numbers” and the continued highest growth rate of national deficit ever as the president continues to give money to fund wars, eliminate more student loan debts. Where is the logic? Great job increasing deficit at a record pace with fantastic work force numbers — kinda illogical.
The good news is he is making his employer very happy. Sadly, American citizens are not his employer. I hope America can realize the truth before it’s too late if there still is time.

What will cost Biden in election
In response to George Jung’s April 5 letter: My so-called wish list on high crime, immigration, energy and our economy is what will cost Joe Biden his 2024 re-election in stopping what Biden has started.
Regarding those Mexican cartel tunnels: We have the technology that is able to detect vibrations, such as drilling underground tunnels. Making Mexico pay is simple and easy. Step 1: Close the border. Step 2: Finish building that wall. Step 3: Arrest all those entering illegally and deport immediately. Step 4: ID and fingerprint illegals and store that information blocking future entree permanently.
Have all immigrants seeking their hearing for asylum wait in Mexico until their court date, which can take up to six years due to the overwhelming numbers or force Mexico in deporting them to their countries of origin. After all, Mexico is adding to our immigration problem by letting immigrants from all over the world freely enter through her southern border in order to cross into America. Make Mexico provide out-of-pocket cost in providing housing, food, shelter, and medical care — and pay she will.
Biden failed in paying back student loans at taxpayers’ expense. Look at it this way: It’s Biden’s attempt to buy young votes at the expense of the hard-working American taxpayer. If only the liberal news agencies would give Biden the Donald Trump treatment. As they, say repeat a lie enough and people will believe it’s the truth.
