FUEL SPILL AT SUNCOR REFINERY shuts down roads

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (KDVR) — Commerce City police have shut down E. 56th Avenue between Brighton Boulevard and Vasquez Boulevard due to a fuel spill outside the Suncore refinery on Friday morning.

The diesel spill was later determined to be from a 6″ Magellan pipeline.

The pipeline in question has been isolated and repairs are underway. Environmental crews are also on the scene.

As a safety precaution, 56^th Ave. has been temporarily closed. All appropriate regulatory agencies were notified and there are no injuries or evacuations associated with this incident.

The cause of this incident is under investigation.
