COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (KDVR) — Commerce City police have shut down E. 56th Avenue between Brighton Boulevard and Vasquez Boulevard due to a fuel spill outside the Suncore refinery on Friday morning.

The diesel spill was later determined to be from a 6″ Magellan pipeline.

The pipeline in question has been isolated and repairs are underway. Environmental crews are also on the scene.

As a safety precaution, 56th Ave. has been temporarily closed. All appropriate regulatory agencies were notified and there are no injuries or evacuations associated with this incident.

The cause of this incident is under investigation.
