Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating Bijan Kian, a business associate of former national security adviser Michael Flynn over his role in Flynn Intel Group’s failure to disclose work on behalf of the Turkish government, NBC News reports.

According to NBC, Kian was a partner at Flynn’s former lobbying firm, and Mueller’s team is now questioning witnesses over his work lobbying for a foreign government. Flynn’s failure to disclose his lobbying work is reportedly one subject of the special counsel’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and collusion with the Trump campaign.

Muller is reportedly probing Kian’s role in Flynn’s contract with Inovo BV, which paid the Flynn Intel Group $530,000 and conducted work that “could be construed to have principally benefitted the Republic of Turkey,” according to Foreign Agents Registration Act paperwork.

Kian was also reportedly involved in a Sept. 20, 2016 meeting between Flynn and “Putin’s favorite Congressman” Dana Rohrabacher.
