DOE Releases Request for Proposal for Hanford Occupational Medical Services Contract

Cincinnati -- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a contract to provide a variety of services at the Hanford Site, called the Hanford Occupational Medical Services Contract (OccMed). The total estimated value of the contract is up to approximately $125 million. The period of performance includes a base period of three years (including a transition period of 90 days), and two option periods of two years for a total of seven years. The current OccMed contract at Hanford expires on September 30, 2018.

DOE anticipates awarding a contract that is anticipated to be divided into three types of contract scope: 1) Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) 2) Cost Reimbursement; and 3) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ). The RFP provides for full and open competition.

The OccMed Contractor will provide an Occupational Medical Services Program of superior quality in support of on-going activities at the Hanford Site. The Contractor has the responsibility for total performance under this requirement, including determining the specific methods for accomplishing the work effort, performing quality control, and assuming accountability for accomplishing the work under the contract. The Contractor shall maintain a “readiness to serve” capability sufficient to support a workforce greater than 9,000.
