If you step out on Maple Avenue, the smell of broasted chicken may tempt your taste buds. Recently Cenex has broadened their horizons by expanding not only their building, but also their menu including not only chicken, but also Godfathers pizza, wings, calzones and pizza rolls.

Discussions regarding their expansion and facelift have been on the horizons for a while, however, according to store manager, Teresa Johson, the plans came together this past spring. Johnson has been in charge of the Slayton operation for the past 12 plus years and manages nearly 12 employees.

Crews began the remodeling project began the first part of May and as the calendar turned to July the building was ready. The expanded area includes a freezer and cooler, however, the other space was re-worked the rest of the floor space. A new cooking area was created on the back side to allow for easier preparation of the tasty treats which include broasted chicken, breakfast sandwiches, and now Godfathers pizza and wings as well as breakfast pizza.

In addition, the entire inside space was given a facelift with new paint, flooring, and tiles. Also, the bathroom’s entrance was moved from outside to inside access. Throughout the whole process the business itself was closed intermittently but for the most remained open to serve their customers.

Customers are also treated to a new coffee station featuring a larger variety of upscale Farmers Brothers coffees says Johnson. You will want to check out the new frozen french vanilla coffee slush and berry blast sluSh as well.

Training for these new products has taken place over the last two weeks and employees are now well-versed to tickle everyone’s taste buds with their delightful new delectables.
