Suspects accused of using counterfeit money before fleeing and breaking in vehicles

Police said three suspects turned to stealing from unlocked cars after they were confronted for trying to use a counterfeit $100 bill at two different  Magnolia restaurants in a row. 

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the Jack in the Box at 6734 FM 1488 on Sunday about a possible counterfeit bill. While en route, the deputies were told three males attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill at a nearby Denny's.

The three suspects fled when confronted about the $100 bill and went into the Westwood North subdivision near FM 1488, police report. The three are accused of breaking into numerous unlocked vehicles and taking laptops, phones, bags and other items. One victim who said the suspects broke into his vehicle alerted the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies were able to arrest Wesley Brasseaux, Joshua Range and Shannon Scott based on the information the victim provided to the deputies. The suspects were also found with numerous counterfeit $100 bills and stolen property on them at the time of their arrest. 

All three males face one charge of forgery of a government document and two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.
