RAJKOT: The heirs of 45 erstwhile princely states on Thursday adopted a resolution to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and support him to win the third consecutive term in the broader national interest and protecting the Sanatan Dharma
A contemplation meeting of the princely states was organized by the Rajkot royal scion Mandhatasinh Jadeja.
The meeting was called in the wake of the Kshatriya community's protest against Rajkot BJP candidate Parshottam Rupala which has now converted into anger against the saffron party.

Talking to reporters, Jadeja said, "The PM is an ascetic and a brave man working for the well-being and protection of 145 crore Indians." During the meeting, the heirs of 28 states were present, and 16 declared their support through letters. Jadeja read out the letters from the empress of Kutch, Priti Devi, and the king of Bhavnagar state, Vijayrajsinhji. Jadeja said in the current global turmoil, India requires a stable and strong government. "It's a view of all the royal families that the 2024 election is for the bright future of our next generation, Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma." Replaying to a question on the ongoing protests by the Kshatriya community, Jadeja said "The dialogue between the coordination committee (of Kshatriyas) and BJP leaders is on and I believe the issue will be settled soon."
