Following his prolific goalscoring exploits in the first round of the hexagonal phase of the El Salvador Premier League, on-loan Reggae Boyz striker Kemal Malcolm is in line to win El Hombre Gol que El medal.

Since 2006, the highest goalscorer in the first division has received an award, and this year it will be going to the Arnett Garden player.

Malcolm, who is on loan at AD Chalatenango from Premier League club Arnett Gardens, was the league leading goal scorer in the league at the end of the first round with six goals.

He is closely followed by his teammate and countryman Craig Foster who is on five goals, along with Luis Canales, Michel Mercado and Rodolfo Zelaya.

Malcolm said he is very delighted with his performance because he has been working very hard, and he is also happy for the love and support that he has received from everyone at the club.

"I feel good. I am very grateful for everything that I am living in Chalatenango," said Malcolm. "Being the goal scoring leader at the moment is proof of the work that we are all doing. It is a team achievement; it is not individual, since I have had the support of everyone to be able to score."

The 31-year-old Malcolm, who made his debut for the Reggae Boyz in 2011, has netted two goals in eight senior appearances for the national team.

AD Chalatenango finished round one in second place in Group B with eight points, which includes two wins, two draws and one defeat.
