Environmental Committee Organized by Three Stars Inc. to Benefit Orlando Community

The Green Team has been organized by the staff of Three Stars Inc. to explore ways the company can operate an environmentally cleaner business, as well as involve the local Central Florida community in their efforts.

ORLANDO, FL, July 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A group of employees at Central Florida marketing company Three Stars Inc. have formed a committee dedicated to improving their environmental footprint. A passion project for many staff members, the Green Team has outlined its mission as raising awareness of environmental issues with the management team and how the company can modify simple operational procedures to be more environmentally friendly. Once this is accomplished, the Green Team wants to extend their efforts throughout the staff and out into the community.

The impetus for the idea started when the VP of Sales at Three Stars Inc. saw a particularly shocking television special on the environment entitled "Earth 2100". Having for some time performed environmentally clean habits in her own home, she decided it was time to inform others of the simple, often times money saving, practices. She conferred with other like-minded individuals throughout the company, and they decided the best course of action was to form an informal committee - quickly dubbed the Green Team - to promote clean environmental living to the company's management, as well as throughout the staff.

As a result of their efforts, the company changed all of the light bulbs throughout the offices to cleaner, more efficient units. Also the company supplied less toxic cleaning materials to the janitorial staff. This in turn inspired many employees to do the same in their own homes. Empowered by their success, the Green Team began brainstorming ideas to take to the community to similarly improve environmental habits.

Those ideas have been collected on a Web site the committee designed - currently in version 1.0 - to give advice to other companies about how they too can make an effort in the name of the environment.
